We have the DDP so DD(18 mo) will be eating from our plates. Will we be able to make her a plate at buffets or does she have to actually eat off our plates? Will table service restaurants be willing to provide a small empty plate for her to use?

    Hi Emily:

Currently, kids under three can eat for free off an adult's plate at sit down restaurants and at all-you-care-to-eat restaurants (as well as buffets) if sharing off an adult's plate. In my experience, at buffets, we've never had a problem transferring food from our plate to a small plate for our children when they were under three, however, I would clear this with your server beforehand so there is no confusion.  At sit-down restaurants, our requests for small plates for our children when they were under three and sharing off our plates have always been accommodated.  Ask your server, and hopefully your request will also be accommodated.

    Enjoy your vacation.
