Hi Patricia!
I am a big fan of the
Disney Dining Plan and add it to our Walt Disney World vacation almost every time. You are correct that the kids meals include a beverage, but it does not have to be milk or water. You can substitute for pretty much anything as long as it's non-alcoholic. My kids love to get the frozen slushies as their beverages with their Quick-Service meals, especially during the hot months. They can order a fountain soda or hot chocolate as an option instead. So with one kids meal, you will receive one beverage of your choice. Some
Table-Service restaurants offer specialty beverages like a special lemonade or a milkshake. Those can also be chosen as a kids beverage.
A great tip if you plan on eating meals at your
Disney Resort hotel Quick-Service restaurant is since you will have your refillable mugs, you probably won't need an extra drink. You are allowed to substitute the drink that it comes with for something else like a cupcake, fruit cup, ice cream, pastry or something else. Ask a Cast Member about what is eligible.
Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
Leslie
