I hate to give you an ambiguous answer, Andrea, but it really depends.  You shouldn't have any trouble sharing a meal at counter service locations; my family has done so many times without any issues.  Where you might run into trouble is sharing meals at a table service location.  I can tell you with certainty that you will not be permitted to share at any buffet or family-style meals.  Some a la carte restaurants will permit two guests to share a meal, others will not.  A few years ago we invited my daughter's best friend to vacation with us, and the two of them shared meals at many restaurants (including Le Cellier, Mama Melrose and San Angel Inn) without any trouble.  I took a quick poll of my Moms Panel friends, though, and some of them have experienced difficulty when attempting to share meals at certain table service restaurants.  In short, it will all really depend upon the restaurant and what they allow.  I wish I could offer you more concrete advice, but hopefully this will be helpful as you plan your trip.  Good luck!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
