    DD (7yrs) & I are excited to be taking my mom (65yrs) to WDW for her 1st visit & a well-deserved get-away in 15 days! DD and I have been before. I would like recommendations on must-see and do things to make Mom's trip extra special, but on a budg

    Hi Jessica!

    I'm also taking my Mom for a visit to Walt Disney World for her first visit! 

    I've created a list of special experiences that I want my Mom to experience, and I put it together from the viewpoint of making her first trip special (on a budget) and I'd love to share it with you:

    • Watch Wishes from the top of The Contemporary - Make an Advanced Dining Reservation at California Grill for 8:30 p.m. or so, then go on the balcony of The California Grill after dinner to watch the fireworks from above The Cinderella Castle. If you aren't on the Disney Dining Plan and find this to be too expensive, consider watching Wishes from the beach at the Polynesian, which is completely free.  
    • Don't miss the following attractions at Magic Kingdom, which are MUST see for first-timers: It's a Small World, Mickey's PhilharMagic, Carousel of Progress and Splash Mountain.
    • Buy her an ice cream cookie sandwich from Main Street Bakery and eat it while sitting along the sidewalk on Main Street and watching "A Dream Come True" parade.
    • Take her to Epcot and experience the food, shops and music from countries around the world. Buy a small portion of a quick service meal or snack at each location to "eat" around the world.
    • At Epcot, don't miss Soarin', Test Track, Spaceship Earth or The Universe of Energy.
    • Watch Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • Buy her the NEW Disney Family Treats Tote, which was designed especially for mothers! Visit the Disney Florist and Gifts website and place an order to be delivered straight to your room during your visit.
