DD & I want to run the Princess 1/2 in 2014 - our first 1/2 - we r excited! Planning on following the event with a family vaca and would like all 4 of us to do the 5K the day before the 1/2. Do you think doing both is wise? Any tips for doing both?

Hi Carol Ann!  The Princess half marathon is such a fun race.  It will be even more special if you run it with your daughter!
A lot of people do the 5K followed by the half marathon.  I have done that myself.  For me, I just treat the 5K as a fun walk/jog event and really am there just to have a fun time!  I would definitely not try and run your normal pace during the 5K.  You want to save your legs for the half marathon.  If the other two in your party want to run it, then just make plans to meet up at the end.  You and your daughter can consider it a pre-race victory lap!  Soak up the Disney fun, and take lots of pictures!
