DD & I want to do the princess 1/2 marathon. On average how long is the wait for pics with the characters along the course? Do the lines get really long? We want to take this into consideration when training so we know how to pace ourselves. Thanks

    Hi Caroline,

You and your daughter should definitely do the Princess half marathon!!  It is such an incredible experience!!!
I have found that the lines move quickly because ever runner is really respectful of each other's time.
Wait times will vary, it depends on where you are on the race course and if there is a a big group at that time.  I have seen 5-10 people in line to take pictures with characters and I have seen upwards of 50+ people waiting to take pictures.
A couple of strategies that might help.
-decide that you will only stop for a few character pictures (your favourites) that will help keep you on pace
-if you are going for the experience and plan on stopping for every character then you have to be prepared that you might not be running your best time
-if you want a picture with each character but still want to keep on pace with your goal time, then have your daughter take a picture with the character in the background and then keep running!

You can't predict the wait times for character pictures, just like you can't predict the wait time at a porta potty.
Once you start running and you have your first character interaction, you might change your entire game plan because of the fun and excitement!

If you miss any characters, you will likely be able to find them at one of the parks, so that can be your plan b.

Train with a pace that you can sustain for 13.1 miles. Definitely challenge yourself, so that you can pick up your pace when you do lose a few minutes.
The goal is to finish but also have a great time!

    Wishing you a fantastic time!!
