Hi Suzi,
There's nothing crazy about a day spent eating around the World Showcase at
Epcot. It's one of my family's favorite Walt Disney World activities! In fact, you may want to get an early start on your taste adventure by having pasteries for breakfast at
Les Halles Boulangerie & Patisserie in France, which starts serving at 9 a.m. while most of the World Showcase opens at 11.
Our recommended treats in the other countries: fish & chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom; any platter from Tangierine Café in Morocco; green tea ice cream from Katsura Grill or a shaved ice from Kabuki Café in Japan; a turkey leg from Fife & Drum Tavern in the American Adventure; a small panini or cheese plate from the Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in Italy; a giant pretzel from Sommerfest or a sweet treat from Karamell-Kuche in Germany; a tea smoothie or an eggroll from the Joy of Tea in China; Norwegian meatballs or a sweet pretzel from Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe in Norway; and nachos from La Cantina de San Angel in Mexico.
Canada doesn't have a quick serve restaurant, so you can top your tour with a Coffee Crisp candy bar from its Northwest Mercantile. Specialty snacks and sweets in other gift shops -- especially at Mitsukoshi in Japan -- are a good way to get a taste of each country, too.
We often make two circuits of the World Showcase on our eat-around-the-world adventures, once at lunch and again at dinner. Most things I've mentioned are easy for two people to share without getting too full right away.
Thanks for your question, Suzi. I'm hungry just thinking about all the great flavors you and your daughter will taste soon. Enjoy!
Wilma
