Me, DH and 3 DD (5, 5, and 2) are so excited to have reservations @ Poly for a week around Memorial Day! Have a garden view room. but what building and what floor should we request? Any other tips or secrets for staying @ Poly.?

Hi, Erica!   The Polynesian is one of my very favorite resorts.   You will feel like you are in a tropical paradise!

My favorite building with a garden view is Rarotonga.  It is just steps away from the Great Ceremonial House and just a minute or two walk to the Volcano Pool.   I like to request a first floor room facing the monorail.  My kids get a kick out of watching the monorail zoom by.   This is a nice, quiet location that we enjoy!  (Which floor is just a personal preference.   I just don't want to deal with the elevator if I can avoid it!)

One thing we really like at the Polynesian is Captain Cooks (counter service restaurant.)   We enjoy getting breakfast and sitting at the outdoor seating just outside the restaurant.   For a sit-down breakfast, we enjoy the Kona Cafe or breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at 'Ohana.   You will want to make Advance Dining Reservations for the table service locations by calling (407)WDW-DINE.

If you are heading to Epcot for the day, I suggest just walking over to the Transportation and Ticket Center.  You can also take your resort monorail over and transfer to the Epcot line, but the walk is quicker and you get a nice tour of the resort.

And the very best part of the resort in my opinion:  the beach at nighttime!   After a long day in the parks, we love to relax on the beach in the evenings to watch the Electric Water Pageant go by and watch Wishes fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.   We have spent so many evenings doing this, but it is pure magic every time!

We also like to take evening strolls to the Grand Floridian.  It is only about a 10 minute walk, and usually quiet and peaceful, a nice departure from the hustle and bustle of the parks!

I really hope you enjoy the Polynesian as much as my family does!  Have a great vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
