DD (8) and I just got back from CSR for our 2nd annual trip and am starting to plan next yrs trip. Want to stay someplace different. Trying to decide between Animal Kingdom Lodge & CBR - which would you guys recommend - $ not a consideration.

    Hi Cynthia!

Great minds think alike!  I always start planning my next Disney adventure before my plane takes off from Orlando International Airport.  I find that it greatly eases the pain of my acute "vacation-is-over-itis!"

As for where to call home on your next trip, you have a tough choice, as both Caribbean Beach Resort and Animal Kingdom Lodge are fantastic options.  I just returned from my latest Disney trip, and spent part of our time at Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  To say that I was impressed by this magnificent property is an understatement.  Getting my kids off our balcony each morning as they were gazing at the wildlife outside our savanna-view villa was a challenge.  The pools were incredible, and the dining options, amazing!  After eating at Jiko, Boma and Sanaa (the Tandoori chicken was my absolute favorite), I needed to be carried through the parks!  The lobbies at both the main lodge, Jambo House, and at Kidani Village were absolutely spectacular, with dark wood carvings and wonderful African-inspired music piped throughout.  I had a conversation with a gentleman in the lobby who had just returned from a three month visit to Africa, who could not believe the attention to detail at this property.

I had an opportunity to tour the Caribbean Beach Resort several months ago, and spent time exploring the newly-refurbished Pirate and Nemo rooms.  They are both incredibly-well-themed, and a wonderful place to stay.  I'm convinced my children are part fish, and know that they would love spending time in one of the resort's many pools.  The pirate pool is incredible, and is complete with kid-sized slides, shooting water canons and sprinklers.  Shutters is a great table-service restaurant, with Caribbean-inspired entrees, and a fabulous key lime tart!

If I absolutely had to chose, I'd vote for Animal Kingdom Lodge, but you honestly can't go wrong with either resort.

Have fun planning your next trip!
