Hi Elizabeth!
Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!
Disney's Contemporary Resort is a very popular choice, and is in a wonderful location. The monorail travels right through it, and links this resort with the Magic Kingdom, all the resorts around Seven Seas Lagoon and the Transportation and Ticket Center. It also is located within walking distance of the Magic Kingdom. It has great restaurants including Chef Mickey's and the California Grill - located on the 15th floor, and if you time it correctly you can watch the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom (they will pipe the music into the restaurant)!
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is more similar to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, with the most breathtaking lobby and landscaped gardens, gorgeous pool and views over Bay Lake. I have stayed here many times, and it remains my favourite Disney resort. There are also good restaurant choices here - Artist Point, for signature dining, with views over Silver Creek Falls, and a wonderful menu! Also in contrast, Whispering Canyon Cafe, a lively, family restaurant with good food and entertainment! You can take a short boat ride to the Magic Kingdom, or a bus to everywhere else.
They are both lovely resorts, with very different theming, and I think if you loved Animal Kingdom Lodge, you will also love Wilderness Lodge.
If I can help you with other questions, please ask me!
