Hi! Welcome to planDisney, Betty! What an adventure you have coming up soon on Disney Cruise Line! I'm so excited for you. Although I don't love thinking about my magical time at sea coming to an end, your questions about ground transportation on the day you disembark are good ones! So, let's dive right in.
Disney Cruise Line does offer
ground transportation to the Orlando Airport from Port Canaveral and the Hyatt Regency is located inside the main terminal of the Orlando International airport. You'll simply follow the signs to the hotel after arrival to the airport.
You must reserve your spots on the bus in advance, Betty, by adding them to your cruise reservation, which does include a per-person fee. Reserve your spot through the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App under your reservation options, or on the Disney Cruise Line website under Already > Ground Transportation. You may also
call Disney to discuss options, or if you only need one-way transportation, you must call as the default selection online is round-trip.
Now let's chat about what happens with your luggage. The day before you debark, your Stateroom Host will provide luggage tags for you. You'll have the option to leave luggage outside your stateroom door that night, to be taken off the ship for you. I highly recommend taking advantage of this service. It'll make your morning more relaxed because you're essentially already packed! Lines for the elevator can be long too, and without heavy luggage, making your way to breakfast and off the ship will be a breeze.
Tip: I recommend taking a picture of the Disney pal on your luggage tag or keeping an extra with you that you may not have used. Guests disembark from the ship by group, and groups are determined by the Disney character on your luggage tag.
As you debark the ship in Port Canaveral, you'll pick up any luggage that is waiting for you at the terminal. Remember your Disney pal? Luggage is organized by Disney character, so that's how you'll locate yours. Easy.
After exiting the terminal with your luggage and heading outside, you'll see the Disney Cruise Line buses to your left with well-marked signage directing you to your designated destination. In your case, that would be "Orlando Airport." Check in with the Crew Member there who'll take care of your bags and get you on the next bus, which is usually ready to ride.
I love taking advantage of ground transportation with Disney. It feels like an extension of my vacation, because everything is all taken care of for me, just like on the ship. And I can squeeze in a few more moments of magic watching Disney classics or playing some Disney trivia during my ride!
Hopefully this information has been helpful, Betty. You'll be on your way in no time! Some of my family's fondest memories are onboard a Disney Cruise and I sincerely wish you the most magical voyage. If you have any other questions that come up in your planning, please
reach out again! We're happy to help!
Warmest wishes,
McCayla
