Ahoy there, Carmen!
Welcome back to planDisney! I have to say—your plan to step off one Disney ship only to board another a few hours later is the kind of magic that would make even Genie say, “Phenomenal cosmic itinerary!” What you’re describing is known as a side-by-side cruise, and it’s truly one of the best ways to experience the unique personalities, dining, and
entertainment of different Disney ships. You’re in for a double dose of pixie dust!
Now, let’s talk logistics. The great news is that Disney Cruise Line keeps an eye out for Guests
sailing back-to-back or side-by-side, so you usually won’t have to do a thing ahead of time to let them know. Toward the end of your first sailing, you should receive a letter in your stateroom from Guest Services with all the details about when and where to meet and what to do with your luggage. If that letter doesn’t appear by the time you return from your final dinner, stop by Guest Services and they’ll be happy to assist.
Typically, on disembarkation morning, all Guests transferring to another Disney ship gather in a designated area onboard. Once the ship is cleared, a Cast Member will personally escort your group off the ship—kind of like a private tour led by your very own Fairy Godmother in comfortable shoes. You’ll claim your luggage, breeze through customs, and board a shuttle that takes you directly
to your next terminal. While it’s always subject to change, the process runs as smoothly as Rapunzel’s hair on a good day.
Because of your unique schedule, you may be among the first Guests to complete check-in and board your second sailing (no guarantees!), so you can get right back to enjoying that Disney magic with very little wait. Talk about turning disembarkation day into embarkation day magic!
I hope this helps you feel ready for your magical double-feature at sea. There’s nothing quite like watching one ship fade into the distance while another Disney masterpiece awaits just a few steps away.
Sea ya real soon with boo-tiful nights and frightfully fun days,
Dustin
