Ahoy, Jennifer! I appreciate how special it is to have a
Disney Cruise Line ship setting sail from a port close to home. I grew up just a few miles away from Port Canaveral, and I miss seeing those wonderful red funnels on the horizon. Even though I wished I were on board, it put a little joy in my heart to see an old friend ready to sprinkle Pixie Dust on other families' vacations.
On occasion, Disney has offered cruises to Canada, Bermuda, Puerto Rico and other destinations from
New York City. These itineraries are listed as a
limited-time offering. Although the last cruises were offered in 2023, this page on the website gives me hope that you may see these again. With the new
Disney Destiny joining the fleet later this year and
the announcement that four more ships are in the works, there is so much magic awaiting us all! More ships mean more options.
Unfortunately for your immediate plans, Disney has announced cruises through September 2026, and none are listed for New York City or the northeast coast. Hopefully, it won't be long before we hear news about late 2026 (and perhaps even early 2027) cruises. Disney runs a tight ship and holds this information pretty close to the vest, so there haven't been any clues as to what to expect. It just means there is hope for us all!
Have you
signed up to get emails from Disney Cruise Line? This is the best way to stay up-to-date on the latest announcements. I also sail over to the
Disney Parks Blog for a little window shopping and Disney dreaming. Once new itineraries are announced, they usually publish articles with highlights of the ports and destinations.
Jennifer, I hope your Disney Cruise dreams come true! If these ships return to Canada, you may catch me on board. A tour of Canada's eastern coast sounds too magical to miss!
Wishing Upon a Star!
