Hi there, Jason!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! After long awaiting, your trip is almost here and I bet the excitement is building and for good reason! You will have an amazing adventure in
Alaska; with so many onboard activities AND ports to visit, you are guaranteed to have an incredible time!
Being from Texas, I too, tend to have a different tolerance of cold than others! You will find me bundled up
when others are in shorts enjoying the “nice weather”! When I cruised an Alaskan itinerary a few years ago, we were fortunate to have some mild weather on our sailing, but I know it can fluctuate often and frequently! My recommendation for packing is to look ahead as far out as you can on the weather and use that as a guide and then plan to pack layers. Also make sure you have some sort of waterproof jacket and I would recommend one with a hood; there is nothing worse than getting caught in the rain! If you plan to be outside for long periods of time for
excursions, you may want to consider that when packing. I think you should be fine with jeans and long-sleeved shirts with layers under and above (thats's how I would personally pack), but overall you want to pack and dress for your comfort! Nothing better than spending the day out at port and coming back to warm up with a warm drink from Cove Cafe!
Onboard tends to have some chilly areas, so I always recommend bringing a sweater for dinner service! Even if cruising in a colder area, those main dining rooms tends to have a chill in the air so the sweater is necessary for me!
Wishing you a WONDERful adventure with nice and toasty memories!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
