We have 11 days to visit in October with a 10-person 3-generation group including Grandma (age 62), and four kids ages 8 to 11. "Down time" at our resort will be key. We are debating between Port Orleans or maybe the Wilderness Lodge. Your tho

If you are looking for resort down time, I think all of the generations would enjoy the Wilderness Lodge. Each time we’ve traveled to this resort with grandparents in tow, we’ve had happy senior citizens. There are pleasant nooks for reading and relaxing. Shady trees provide comfortable outdoor spots to relax. Indoor corridors allow everyone to walk inside to the restaurants and gift shop which is welcoming on rainy and/or hot days.

You’ll have bus transportation to and from the theme parks. However, you can also transport yourselves to and from the Magic Kingdom via a pleasant boat ride.

The pool, small beach area, bike rentals and arcade will offer entertainment for your group. Do not miss the wonderful rocking chairs on the deck overlooking the courtyard. So relaxing!

Artist Point offers wonderful fine dining and the Whispering Canyon Café will make kids (including adults) of all ages hoot ‘n’ holler.

You may wish to look in to the villa accommodations at this resort. Depending on the number of rooms that you are reserving, you may find a 1 or 2 bedroom villa to be very accommodating and even cost effective.
