Hi Nora,
Although I am so sad to hear that your father-in-law had a heart attack, I am hopeful that he is recovering!
It looks like your arrival date is just beyond the date indicated to take advantage of the
flexible cancellation policy. With that policy, Guests in the U.S. and Canada who booked through Disney can potentially cancel without Disney-imposed change fees up to the date of arrival for arrivals up to April 30, 2021. Review the details of the policy to see the specific cancellation guidelines. I suggest you
contact a Cast Member with Disney Resort Hotel Reservations.
Keep in mind that if you booked through a third-party vendor, there may be other cancellation fees. Also check to see if he had
Travel Insurance. If so, you may be able to help him file a claim. If your father-in-law makes enough progress to still travel, know that there are
Services for Guests with Disabilities, including
Wheelchair and
Electric Conveyance Vehicle (ECV) Rentals that may help support him in the parks and resorts.
If the rest of your party intends to travel, make sure that you have
Disney Park Pass system and
advanced dining reservations. On our last visit, dining reservations were a must. Even though
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering was a good option, we did not want to have to worry at all about food. While there, be sure to have the My Disney Experience App downloaded so that you can view your plans, join the
Virtual Queue for
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, and use
Mobile Dine Check-in.
Nora, I wish I could wave a wand and bring your father-in-law back to perfect health. I am forever hopeful and believe in the power of the Evening Star. Sending wishes for his speedy recovery!
Magic and memories,
Donyell
