    Hi Moms - 21 days until our visit & we're over the moon excited! Quick ? - Is the haunted carriage ride at Fort Wilderness appropriate for a 5 year old? I made reservations, but now am concerned that it may be too scary. Thanks for all the great adv

    Although I have not been on the Haunted Carriage ride, I have heard from folks who have been that the decorations are no more scary than those at the Haunted Mansion at the Magic Kingdom.  The anticipation of something scary drives the thrill of the ride more than anything.

    I have a 4 1/2-year-old and totally understand your need to check things out.  If you'd like to see pictures and get a good synopsis of the ride, visit www.disboards.com and click on the camping thread.  From there, look for a topic called "Opinions on the Haunted Carriage Ride" posted around 9/08.  In it, you'll find a link to a report on the ride with pictures from last year and a play-by-play so you can make a more education decision for your family.
