Hi Denise!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I love to spend a day or two at the Walt Disney World Water Parks -
Disney's Blizzard Beach and
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon. It's such a great way to relax and enjoy a slower pace before heading back to the excitement of the four theme parks. Renting a
Polar Patio will be a fantastic way to enhance your visit. Both water parks will close for maintenance during the winter months, but usually this is done at separate times so one water park will remain open to Guests. Also on some days during the winter, the water parks may be closed because the temperature is too cold. However, I see that your arrival date is August! You will probably experience some rain during your visit, but hopefully only for short spells, and both water parks will remain open and unaffected during showers. If there is any sign of lightning nearby, all water rides, pools, anything to do with water, will shut down temporarily for safety, but the rest of the park will most likely stay open, including all the food facilities. This type of weather can be over quite quickly, but you will find that many people will leave the park, so if you can sit it out you may enjoy less crowds once they reopen everything. During extreme weather conditions, such as
hurricanes, all Walt Disney World theme parks and water parks may close completely.
Please come back and visit us if you have any further questions. We will be happy to help you plan your magical vacation to Walt Disney World.
