Hi Roger!
Welcome back to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by to see us again! It looks like your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort is getting "
closer and closer every day," so let's dive into the details of
Lightning Lane passes to help you make the most of your time in the parks!
Roger, two types of Lightning Lane passes are available - Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass. You're correct in noticing that when you purchase a Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you do so for just one park and all of your initial pre-arrival selections must be from the same park. However, I'm happy to share that you don't need to purchase a second Multi Pass for a different park! Once you have redeemed your first Lightning Lane of the day, you can select an additional Lightning Lane return time for another attraction based on availability. As long as your ticket has the
Park Hopper Option, that selection can be from any park. If you're starting your day at Magic Kingdom Park, you can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for that park and then, after redeeming your first selection, choose another available attraction - this time from Disney's Hollywood Studios!
Another thing to keep in mind as you plan to park hop with Lightning Lane passes is that your Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass purchases do not have to be from the same parks. Lightning Lane Single Pass allows you to purchase individual passes for one or two of the most popular attractions in each park, and each Guest is allowed to purchase up to two Single Passes per day. This means that you could purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass for Magic Kingdom Park, a Lightning Lane Single Pass for
TRON Lightcycle / Run, and a second Lightning Lane Single Pass for
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.
Roger, I hope this information is helpful as you get ready to enjoy your next Walt Disney World Resort vacation! Don't forget that if you're staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel (or other select hotels), you can begin purchasing Lightning Lane passes seven days before checking in, while Guests staying elsewhere can purchase three days before visiting the parks. If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
Cheers,
Kristi
