5 days to our trip! I have a 16 month old that eats adult size portions. The kids menu will likely not satisfy him and I understand we cannot get him the dining plan because of his age- any suggestions?

    Hi Heather,

As a parent of two pint-sized foodies, I know what it's like to shuffle a kids menu aside. It's not that my children don't enjoy the typical kids menu offerings, but given the choice, they'll go for the items on the regular menu faster than you can say "filet mignon."

Since you'll be taking advantage of the Disney Dining Plan, what you can do is order the meal of choice for your child and just let the server know that you'll be paying for it out-of-pocket. So, at the end of your meal, you can square up for your child's entree and the gratuity for the entire table all at one time.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

Many of the restaurants around Walt Disney World have their menus featured on DisneyWorld.com. So, you can do a little pre-meal planning before you arrive and have your orders ready to roll when your server arrives at the table.

A hungry child is typically a cranky child, so anything to speed up the process at mealtime certainly will help to keep everyone happy.

I hope that helps and I hope you have an awesome vacation!!

    Best regards,
    Derek
