Hi Amanda ~
You trip is just around the corner and I bet you are too excited to sleep already!
You are sweet to plan ahead for your Mom. Tell her to rest assured that there is no reason for her to be nervous. Disney does a great job of accommodating
Guests with Mobility Disabilities.
Your Mom is more than welcome to use her ECV along the path from the Yacht Club to the International Gateway entrance at Epcot. It is super convenient and a great reason to stay at one of the resorts along Crescent Lake. Most of the Friendship Boats can accommodate ECVs but it will depend on the water level. You should check with the Boat Captain prior to boarding. There is also a pathway from the Yacht Club to Hollywood Studios. It is a peaceful walk and most Guests can make the journey in around 30 minutes.
The monorails, ferry boats, and buses can accommodate Guests in ECVs. Most buses can accommodate 2 ECVs at once. The wait is usually no longer for Guests traveling in ECVs. I would recommend traveling at off peak times if possible. If you have a dining reservation you are trying to make, allow yourself a little extra time just in case.
If your Mom is not familiar with using an ECV, I would recommend that she go to a local retail location that provides them for their customers and practice. That will make her feel more confident navigating the parks and resorts.
Here is some information for Guests
using ECVs in the queues and boarding attractions that may be helpful.
Please feel free to visit us again with all of your questions. We are hEAR for you!
