How many days should we stay in the parks with an 11 year old boy?

    Hi Kenton!

Congrats on your upcoming trip!  At eleven your "young pirate" is a perfect age to enjoy just about every attraction throughout the parks.  My guess is that he's past the height restrictions for the "scary rides" and is probably old enough to really enjoy many of the more interactive/information rides (at Epcot, for example).  That being said, how many days you decide to visit each of the parks is largely a matter of personal preference, budget and how much time you have to vacation.  Ideally, I would allow at least one full day per park.  Epcot is huge, and a day and a half would make it more manageable.  Another factor to consider is the time of year you are travelling.  During peak seasons, you can expect larger crowds and lines, which will make traversing the parks a bit slower.  The good news is that during peak seasons, Disney generally responds by lengthening its park operating hours.

For my family five to seven days is a good number to tackle the attractions we most want to experience at a reasonable pace (allowing time for lots of swimming at our resort and some great sit down meals.)

Whatever your "magic number" is, have a wonderful vacation!
