Hiya Kristy, and welcome to planDisney! That's such a fantastic question, and probably the most important one when planning a visit. Some people might say I'm a little "bibbidi-bobbidi-bonkers" for Disneyland, but if you ask me, there are never enough days to spend at the Happiest Place on Earth! Believe it or not, even as a local, I still discover new details and hidden gems on every single trip. It's a place that's always changing and always magical.
To truly savor the magic, I recommend at least three days. This gives you enough time to explore both theme parks and even enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of the
Downtown Disney District and the beautiful
Disneyland Resort hotels without feeling rushed. Each park has its own unique charm that you simply have to experience.
At
Disneyland Park, you'll step right into the heart of where the magic began. This is the realm of classic stories and timeless attractions, where the air is filled with nostalgia and beloved tales come to life right before your eyes. You can set sail with boisterous buccaneers on Pirates of the Caribbean, become a galactic hero on Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and wave to Mickey Mouse himself in a dazzling cavalcade down Main Street, U.S.A. It’s a place that wraps you in that classic, heartwarming feeling that brings out the wide-eyed wonder in everyone.
Just a few steps away,
Disney California Adventure Park offers a magic all its own, where the vintage charm of Hollywood’s golden age meets thrilling, present-day adventures. Here, you can live out your own epic stories. Answer the call to assemble with Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Avengers Campus, then cruise down the majestic Ornament Valley in Cars Land as Radiator Springs glows to life at sunset. You can celebrate the heartwarming stories of Pixar Pier and even take a thrilling drop on Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT! It's a park buzzing with high energy and imaginative worlds waiting to be explored.
To make the most of your visit, I highly recommend a
Park Hopper ticket. This will give you flexibility to go back and forth between both parks. You might start your morning with a journey on the Jungle Cruise in Disneyland, then "hop" over to California Adventure for a delicious lunch at Lamplight Lounge before heading back to Disneyland to find the perfect spot for a nighttime spectacular!
And Kristy, now is a truly fantastic time to visit, as there’s extra magic in the air for the
Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration! There's so much to see, do, and taste, from special entertainment to limited-time treats. In fact, there's even a
Disneyland Anniversary Ticket Offer that provides incredible value for 3 or 4-day visits through August 14, 2025.
Don't forget to plan a "resort day" if you can, as well! Spend the morning exploring the Disneyland Hotel and have breakfast with Goofy and his pals at Goofy's Kitchen. Then, take a stroll through the Downtown Disney District for some shopping and a treat from Disney Wonderful World of Sweets. It's a wonderful way to recharge while still being immersed in the magic.
There you have it, Kristy! I hope this helps you plan a truly enchanting visit. Please don't hesitate to see us again if you have any more questions.
