Hi! 6 days to go! Am I correct that these restaurants do not have cancell policies/penalties: Plaza, Tony's Town Sq., Sci-Fi, 50's Prime Time Cafe, & San Angel Inn. Others that do have 1 day cancel policy, is it ok to cancel night before for b'fast?

    Hi, Kelli!

The restaurants you listed to not have penalties for no shows.  However, out of courtesy to other guests waiting for tables/reservations, always cancel if you know you will not be using the booked Advance Dining Reservation.  This can be done with a quick phone call to(407)WDW-CNCL,  (407)WDW-DINE, online under "My Reservations" or at any guest relations location in the parks or resorts.

Here is the "official" policy posted on the website states:  "Remember that some reservations require a major credit card for guarantee. A cancellation charge may be incurred if reservations are not cancelled at least 1 day in advance."   However, for special experiences like the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party, they are more strict:  "There is a 24-hour cancellation policy and a full meal charge if you cancel within 24 hours."   Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace are also more specific with penalty charges for no shows: "If the Guest cancels within one day of the reservation or if the dining party is a "no show" for the meal, a cancellation fee of $10 per person will be charged to the credit card used at the time of booking."   Make sure to read the small print closely before reserving dining or events so you are familiar with the cancellation policies.

For any place you have a deposit, the  earlier you can make the cancellation the better, and remember that phone lines will close at 10:00 p.m. EST.  As a rule, cancel as early as possible the prior day to avoid charges.

To be on the safe side, book meals that you know you can reasonably make it to, and for those that you are on the fence about, you can always do a walk-up to check for availability.  Also, program the cancellation number into your phone so you can easily cancel your dining reservation.  (407)WDW-CNCL.  Good luck!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
