Hello Sabrina!
In just a couple of months, your family is going to be at the most MAGICAL place on earth!!! WOO HOO - I am so excited for all of you!
OK...Here is my suggested itinerary for your eight day trip to Walt Disney World:
Day 1 – Since this is the day you arrive, I would take it easy and explore your Disney Resort and maybe take a short trip to Downtown Disney. The bottom line is to not tire out your kids the first day. This day is all about the excitement of being at Disney and getting them ready for the next day.
Day 2 - Magic Kingdom
Day 3 - EPCOT
Day 4 - Hollywood Studios - Having five kids of my own, I will tell you this Disney Park is one of my family favorites!
Day 5 - Mix it up day! - Depending on how your kids are doing, you might want to take a break from the parks and swim, play a round of miniature golf, or go to Downtown Disney. You can also use this day to go to a Disney Water Park.
Day 6 - Animal Kingdom
Day 7 - Magic Kingdom - Our family always begins and ends with this Disney Park!
Day 8 - SAD DAY - going home...
My opinion on Mickey's Backyard BBQ is that it is a GREAT experience for families with older kids (age 7+). However, I think younger kids (6 and younger) find it to be a little chaotic. If your family wants to experience a character meal with Mickey and his friends, I would highly suggest Chef Mickey’s. Your whole family will love it, and the classic Disney Characters will come to your table as you eat.
If you have other questions, please let me know!
Have a MAGICAL day!
Wes
