We are 4 days out from our Disney World trip and my son is possibly not going to be able to go. Will we be able to get any of the price of his ticket back?

    Hiya Karen!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for making us a part of your magical vacation! I am sorry to hear that your son may not be able to join you on your Walt Disney World Resort trip, and I sincerely hope that you will be able to experience the magic together soon.

Theme park tickets are non-refundable, but there are a few things you can do with the extra ticket. First, you can change the date of the theme park ticket in the My Disney Experience mobile app by going to the "Tickets and Passes" section. Since theme park tickets are priced depending on the day and time of year, you may need to pay for the price difference when changing the date, but the ticket will be able to be used then. Second, you can simply let the ticket expire and have it credited on your next purchase of theme park tickets or Annual Passes of equal or higher value. This must be done by a Cast Member, however, so you will need to call in or see a Cast Member in person to access this credit. Lastly, theme park tickets that have not been used can be reassigned, so you can assign it to another family member's profile if they can come. Unfortunately, reassigning the ticket would lead to losing the theme park reservations if they were already made. If you have any questions about these options, don't hesitate to reach out to a Cast Member via chat, email or phone!

Now, I thought I would share a couple of ways you could still include your son in your magical vacation! First, I love that you can send postcards from different locations in the Walt Disney World Resort, one of them being right around the corner from Main Street, U.S.A. Indeed, stop by the Main Street Chamber of Commerce with your mail, and they will be able to ship it for you. Second, I always love getting certain treats on my vacations, so I love bringing back some goodies from the Main Street Confectionery. If your son has any favourite treats, I find that bringing those home helps with the Disney blues.

I hope this was helpful, Karen, and that you and your Ohana will have the best vacation ever on your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort trip! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out. As Remy said: "the only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability," but we are here to help you make it magical!

    Have a magical day,
