Hi, 60 days and counting! Just wondering if any of you have any idea why Ft. Wilderness is excluded from free dining? Some of the accomadations can be as much a value resort. You all a great for helping so many people enjoy the magic. Thanks

Hi Beverly! Free Dining is a huge promotion that many guests look forward to each year when planning their Disney vacations. It often does not include certain resorts and although we are not told exactly why we can usually come to some conclusions for the reason.

The newest resort, Art of Animation, is often not included since the demand for these new Family Suites is so big. Disney does not have to entice guests to book their rooms there as everyone is wanting to already. With Fort Wilderness it is likely because half of this resort is for the recreational vehicles and campers and the other half for the cabin guests. All of these guests will have their own cooking facilities with them whether it is in a motor coach or the fully equipped kitchens in the cabins. Many guests book here because they prefer to save money and cook on their own. The Free Dining promotion often doesn't interest the guests who are booking in Fort Wilderness.

It can become a tough decision when deciding on your resort and any special offers. My family loves Fort Wilderness and we personally rather not have the dining package and instead cook out on the grill and enjoy the peacefulness of the area. We tend to eat better knowing we do not always have to hit a busy restaurant for all of our meals. We pick and choose the times and days when we want a great culinary treat at one of Disney's fine dining establishments.

Your 60 days will fly by quickly and soon you will be at the most magical place on earth!
