Hi, 36 days & counting until 1st family WDW vaca. Staying @ POP can we swim @ other resorts? If so, how do we do it, just walk in or need 2 register? Very xcited. Kids don't know, think we r going on annual OBX trip. Any other tips appreciated. UR G

    Hi Amy,

With a few exceptions that include guests staying at "Sister Resorts" such as Port Orleans Riverside and Port Orleans French Quarter, DVC member privileges and pool rehabs, guests may only use the pool for the hotel in which they are registered.

Near every pool you will see a sign stating "Use of the Pool is for Registered Guests Only". Some pools do check hotel IDs.

Swimming will be fun at the Pop Century resort and with so much to see and do, it's a nice relaxing respite from the parks especially for a mid-day break.

I'm so excited to hear about your first WDW vacation! I love that your kids think they are going to the Outer Banks (a place that I also love, by the way). I've never been able to keep a vacation secret and admire parents that can contain the exciting news up until their home departure or even their arrival at WDW!

I lived in PA for 15 years so I know that the weather in Florida will feel hot and humid compared to the temps in PA. Keep hydrated, seek out air-conditioned shows, attractions and restaurants and definitely return to Pop Century for a mid-day refreshing swim!

If I can be of any further help, just let me know. Have a magical vacation!
