    Hi Shannan!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel!

I would check with a Disney Cast Member at the front desk of the Wilderness Lodge the night before.  Operating times for Disney transportation change from time to time and he or she will have the most updated information.  He or she can also provide you with an alternative solution if the boat that runs between the Contemporary, the Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness is not running early enough.

That said, another way to get to Chef Mickey's is to take a boat or a bus to the Magic Kingdom.  Once you are at the Magic Kingdom bus stop, don't head for the park, but instead head to the sidewalk that heads back to the Contemporary Resort.  It is literally a 5 to 10 minute walk, depending on how fast you walk, from the Magic Kingdom bus stop to the Contemporary's lobby.

The Wilderness Lodge is a wonderful resort.  I hope you have a reservation for the Whispering Canyon Cafe.  Dinner is the best time to be there as that is when the "entertainment" is in full swing.  It is very subdued at breakfast and almost the same at lunch time!  Also, save time to enjoy the pool at the lodge.  Most children love spending time out there.

Have a magical vacation, and please write back if you have any more questions!
