We will be there in 9 days to celebrate my daughters third birthday. My mom recently broke her foot, we have already reserved an evc with an outside company but will we be able to get a gac?

    Hi Cierra,

Hooray for single digits until your vacation at the Walt Disney World Resorts! I am sorry your mom broke her foot but you are wise to rent an ECV for her to make her trip easier. The Guest with Disabilities site is a great resource for planning your trip.

Disney recently replaced the Guest Assistance Card (GAC) with the Disability Access Service Card (DAS). The DAS is different from the GAC in that waiting for a ride is now timed and not unlimited. You will need to go to a Guest Relations window at a major theme park and ask for a DAS. It is up to the cast member to determine need.

I will say that Disney has done a good job of expanding queues so that guests in wheelchairs and ECVs do not have to be separated from their party. They can wait in the regular queue.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
