Thanks for visiting planDisney. Like you, I’m a
Magic Key Holder. My dad is always amazed that I keep going back to Disneyland. “Aren’t you tired of going to Disneyland?!” I always sigh, but I lovingly tell him, “I could never be tired of something that brings me so much joy.”
I completely understand the desire to have more park availability. Currently, Magic Key holders can
renew their key up to one month before the expiration. According to the
Terms and Conditions, once the pass expires, it will no longer be available for renewal or upgrade, so make sure you stay on top of your renewal date. Don’t forget, since you are a California Resident, you can make monthly payments on your pass—you do not have to pay for it in full upfront. You can always pay more toward your pass or pay it off early. Just call the Magic Key Membership Services line at (714) 781-7277.
When your pass is available for renewal, you can then upgrade it. The ability to upgrade your Magic Key pass is subject to availability. Currently, I was able to upgrade my Believe Key to an Inspire Key, so I hope this will continue. Even though you will be able to upgrade your pass a month in advance, your new pass will have the same expiration date as the original pass. It’s nice to renew early because then you can start making new park reservations with your renewed key.
Sounds like you are only three months into your Magic Key pass and already itching to upgrade, so I know that is not the news you wanted to hear. In the meantime, be sure to take advantage of your
Magic Key benefits. Hopefully, you already know about your discount on parking, select dining, and your 25% discount on a
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, as well as unlimited downloads of any photos you take with a Disney PhotoPass photographer. Sometimes Magic Key holders get free gifts or exclusive merchandise. Earlier this year, I got a
Sip and Savor pass for the
Lunar New Year festival, and I love that the Sip and Savor pass came with a special lanyard for Magic Key holders. There were also free Year of the Snake buttons handed out to Magic Key holders as well. Be sure to follow
