Hi there, Knut! Welcome to planDisney. Table service dining is a great way to slow down and rest during a busy park day. Let’s get down to business and see what we can do to make sure you get those dining reservations for your upcoming visit.
April is a busy time for the parks! Springtime just seems to liven up the place after winter’s cold melts away like Olaf in the sun. That being said, the crowds can definitely pick up, especially with the
Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, which will be occurring during your visit!
I took a look at your arrival date along with several restaurants in the parks and at the hotels. It looks like there are reservations available both before and after your arrival date. You may want to keep in mind that some restaurants may be undergoing a springtime refresh. For example,
Goofy’s Kitchen paused reservations recently and announced when they’d open them back up.
Another thing to consider is your party size. While the party size can go as high as 20 Guests, I’ve found that 5 is usually the max for guaranteeing a reservation. For larger groups, I break the party into smaller groups with staggered time slots. I also like to let the Cast Member at the host stand know that our parties are together to see if we can sit together or at least nearby. It’s not always possible, but it never hurts to ask!
If you’re having trouble securing a reservation at a certain restaurant, fear not! My favorite trick is to check the
app or website frequently. There’s almost always a chance another Guest cancels, and you can snag that spot. I recently used this method for a walk-up reservation at
Trader Sam’s with my party of 7. I kept checking the app, and lo and behold, we got our spot to munch on delicious tempura-battered green beans and sip on an Uh-Oa!
Knut, thank you so much for visiting planDisney! I’m crossing my fingers that you get all the dining reservations you want. If you have any more questions or need help planning, planDisney is here for you.
