hi 12 days and we will be at akl in disney for 8 days 7 nights:)just want to hang out at resort that night and explore made dinner reservations and breakfast both at boma and suggestions on what do do w my kids ages 5 and 6 at resort that day?is boma good?

    Hi Angela!

Animal Kingdom Lodge is an excellent choice for your little ones!
If you're wanting just lay low and relax on your arrival day, you couldn't have chosen a better resort at which to do so. The pool and water slide area are fantastic and you'll find some shaded areas to set up near by. There are even some flamingos in an enclosure near the pool which kept my two fascinated for a while!

When you're finished with swimming, or before you do so, there are many other interactive activities to take part in at the resort itself. Upon arrival, ask for a schedule at check-in outlining the times that Cast Member Guides will be out on Arusha Rock off the back of the lobby. At set times each day they are available for a fun, mini-scavenger hunts and providing children and their families with interesting information about the savannah's animals too. Another fun, family activity right at the resort is to hunt for Hidden Mickeys! Ask any Cast Member about this or pick yourself up a Hidden Mickey book before your trip.

Boma is absolutely fantastic! Even when my family isn't staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we make the trek to dine there often! At breakfast, the choices are plentiful and you'll find everything from standard breakfast fare to interesting, African dishes you've never heard of ... and the Jamba juice ... Ooooooh the Jamba juice! Heaven in a glass. My very favourite breakfast offering, which I try to duplicate at home but it's never quite as good, is the Goat Cheese & Chive Scrambled Eggs. At dinner at Boma, again, your mouth will be watering over the abundance of choices available from the expansive buffet. Be sure to indulge in the very popular Zebra Domes for dessert!

You're going to have such a Magical time at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge Angela!

I hope you'll choose to visit me again with more great questions about the planning of your family's Walt Disney World vacation!
