How many days in advance to book a hotel room on property?

    Hi Alex! Welcome to planDisney.

I am thrilled to hear you are thinking about booking a stay at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Just over lunch today, my kiddos and I were daydreaming about a stay at a resort hotel with plans to enjoy the pool, relax, and soak in all the magic. Swoon!

Here at planDisney, we are big fans of planning in advance, and I am happy to help you figure out when is the best time to book your stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel.

If you're looking for a room-only reservation, those can be made 499 days in advance of your check-in date in most cases. For a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package, which includes your theme park tickets, these usually become available in the summer for the following year. I see you're looking at November 2022, and I'm happy to report that packages are available now (though note there may be exceptions during the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort). At this time, dining plans are not an add-on option, as they are currently paused.

Alex, if you click on the "Places to Stay" tab of the Walt Disney World website, you can view a list of Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Enter your visit dates and some information about the Guests in your party, and select whether you're looking for the room only or a package. The site will then filter based on your preferences and show your options for your visit. You may also call (407) 939-1936 to speak with a friendly Cast Member in the Disney Reservations Center. I also recommend taking a look at the Special Offers webpage to see what offers might be available during your stay.

The planDisney Panelists shared our tips for selecting a Disney resort hotel in this Panel Extra. Whether you're just looking for a place to crash after a full day of theme park fun or a luxurious experience with spas and fine dining, there's an option that's perfect for you. I also highly recommend reading the Disney Parks Blog for helpful news and fun planning tips. We're here to help if you have any further questions as you make your plans, so please come back and see us!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
