Hi Susan! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I will go ahead and admit it ... I am jealous that you are currently enjoying a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! But I am also very excited for your family! Disney vacations are full of magic and joy and I know you are already having a
wonderful visit.
Walt Disney World is definitely a popular vacation destination - from families like mine that keep returning each year to their favorite vacation spot to folks that visit for a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Part of the attraction of this destination is that Disney does a wonderful job of making everyone feel welcome and truly wants their Guests to have the best vacation ever. With that in mind, the theme parks can be crowded, but visiting mid-week can help to reduce the crowds a bit, since Guests that are local tend to visit during the weekends and holidays. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday have been less crowded in my experience, with things picking up Friday-Monday.
The great news is Disney has tools in place to help alleviate some of the stress that can come with crowded theme parks, especially for
Guests with Cognitive Disabilities! The guide that I just linked to has some very useful information about making this vacation stress-free for your family, and I highly encourage you to read through it. You will also find information located within the guide about the
Disability Access Service (DAS) card that may be appropriate for your family.
I hope this helps, Susan, and that you continue to have an incredible vacation! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
