Hi Jamye,
Thanks so much for your question. As Walt Disney World undergoes its phased reopening, all of us are working hard to keep up with the specifics of rescheduling tickets and vacation packages. I'm amazed at all the details Disney needed to work out in order to reopen the theme parks and resorts. It's pretty mind-boggling.
As the parks have reopened, there's been flexibility added to many tickets and vacation packages that were purchased before the parks closed. And I can tell you that cast members underwent extensive training on rescheduling procedures as they began to welcome guests back. So I believe the cast member who helped you on chat was passing along the most up-to-date information they had at that moment.
Are your tickets linked to your
My Disney Experience account? If so, you should be able to make park admission reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system for both your October 2020 visit and your May 2021 visit. Reservations are available through September 26, 2021.
I would encourage you to make those reservations as soon as possible because capacity is limited in each park each day as part of
enhanced health and safety measures. If you run into an issue with the May dates, I'd suggest you call (407) 566-4985, the number for guests with existing tickets, so that an expert cast member can assist you.
Wishing you magical visits to the Walt Disney World resort in the coming months, Jamye! Please let us know if we can help with any planning tips as your vacations draw near. Enjoy!
