Hello there, Mauricia! Welcome to planDisney. We appreciate you stopping by with your planning questions.
Let's get you started with the first step which would be, tickets! You can purchase your
Disneyland Resort tickets directly on the Disneyland website. Currently, tickets also require
theme park reservations for your visit. When you go through the purchasing process on the Disneyland website, you will be instructed to choose the day you want to visit and which park. This will secure your theme park reservations once you have checked out. You will receive a confirmation email and this will be what you need to link your tickets to a Disneyland account, as well as a QR code for them. If you sign in to your Disneyland account or create one before you purchase your tickets, they should link directly to your account.
You had a question about needing names for the tickets. You can assign names to each ticket. This will be handy when you have multiple tickets on your account. This does not lock the ticket to the name though, so should someone not be able to come you can let someone else use it as long as it's unused. Once the ticket is scanned at the entrance for the first time, a Cast Member will take a picture of the person using the ticket and that would be what assigns the ticket to the person.
A parking voucher can be purchased during your ticket purchase. It is the same price that you will pay on the day of arrival at one of the parking lots or structures. As far as benefits, it is more of just a convenience to have it purchased and paid for with your tickets. There is no other real benefit of it over purchasing it when you arrive.
Last, but not least, let's talk about
Disney Genie and Disney Genie+. Disney Genie is a complimentary offering within the Disneyland app. You will go through steps to let Genie know what attractions and entertainment are high on your priority list that day and it will give you a plan and suggestions for your day. Disney Genie+ is a service that you can add to each ticket and you will be able to make Lightning Lane selections for participating attractions. Lightning Lanes are separate entrances to attractions that have a much shorter wait time usually than the standby line. This is a really great add-on if you are only going to be in the parks for one day.
My pro tip for your day in the parks is to use
mobile ordering in the Disneyland app when possible! This allows you to order your food and select a specific pick-up time at participating food service locations. This is just another way to save time and avoid a sometimes longer line.
Mauricia, I hope this information helps you get your tickets purchased and on your way to planning the details for your day at The Happiest Place on Earth. Please come back and visit again if you have any other questions for us.
