Hiya, Tricia!
How exciting! I love visiting the Disneyland Resort with my extended family too. I remember fondly a visit I spent with my cousin. We enjoyed riding
attractions,
entertainment, and catching up with each other over
delicious food.
Each Guest of the Disneyland Resort will require both a
theme park ticket and a
theme park reservation to enter the parks. Because the number of park reservations is limited, we do sometimes see no reservations remaining for popular days. But don’t give up hope! Park reservations often become available. So it is important to keep a close eye on the
theme park reservation availability calendar. You never know when a reservation on your preferred date might pop up.
Tony’s Tip: Other Guests have until 11:59 PM the night before to cancel an existing reservation. You know how we often are as people; many tend to wait until the last minute to decide on whether to keep a reservation. So, although it can cause us to feel anxious not knowing sooner, you will possibly want to keep watching the availability even up to the evening before.
When you wish to update a park reservation, you will need to visit the "
My Theme Park Reservations" page to cancel the reservation. Then, return to that same "
My Theme Park Reservations" to book a new reservation to take its place. For one-day tickets, you will need to pay special attention to
ticket tier levels. A one-day ticket may be used on a date of the same or lower tier. When following the steps to book a new reservation, you will only see dates that both have reservations available and that are valid for the given tier level.
Tony’s Tip Times Two: Another possible path toward finding a park reservation is available for Guests of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels. A pool of
theme park reservations exclusively for hotel Guests may have availability even when the regular pool is depleted. So it may also be worth considering booking at least a portion of your stay at an on-site hotel. Then, visit the "
My Hotel Reservations" page to proceed with park reservations from the hotel pool of reservations.
I hope this helps make you feel a little more assured that your plans to visit The Happiest Place on Earth may still work out. With a little faith, trust, and a smidgen of pixie dust, you may see your dream of visiting the Disneyland Resort with your cousin come true!
