Hiya Jeff!
Welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! As they say over at Blizzard Beach, it is so "ice to ski you!" I am so glad you decided to stop by and ask us your question today, and I am thrilled to be a part of your planning journey. Can you believe that in just a few weeks, you will be in sunny Florida, soaking in all the Disney magic? And with such incredible plans, I would be counting down the days if I were you!
There is no better way to fight the Florida heat than enjoying the water parks and the various Disney Resort pools. Indeed, I love adding the Park Hopper option to my theme park tickets as it allows you to modify your trip depending on what you would like to do in the moment and having the Water Parks as part of the
Park Hopper Plus option makes it even more magical! To answer your question, you can add the Park Hopper Plus option to your existing tickets, but unless you also change the length of your tickets, you will only be able to visit the theme parks and water parks during those seven days. Therefore, if you would like to visit the water parks on the last five days of your visit, you would also need to include those days in the length of your theme park tickets. Thankfully, you can make those changes yourself on
My Disney Experience! In the "My Plans" section, you should be able to see your theme park tickets and click on "Change Ticket." There, you should be able to change the number of days on your ticket and add the Park Hopper Plus option. Otherwise, since the Water Parks do not currently require
theme park reservations, you could also upgrade your tickets upon arrival at a ticketing window! These can be found at the main entrance of any of the four parks and
Disney Springs!
Although you must be used to the heat, there are also many other ways to fight the hot Florida weather across the theme parks, and my personal favourite is by getting delicious, refreshing treats. Since you will be visiting the water parks, you must try the Sand Pail ice cream bucket available at
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park and
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. This scrumptious treat is perfect for sweet-tooth families and is the best shareable dessert. If you are looking for a smaller challenge, no Walt Disney World Resort vacation is complete without having a Dole Whip. I always get the Coconut Pineapple Dole Whip Swirl at Aloha Isle in Magic Kingdom Park or the Simba Sunset at Tamu Tamu in Disney's Animal Kingdom. The Coconut Pineapple swirl is not too sweet and refreshing, while the Simba Sunset is sweeter and fruitier with its watermelon, strawberry and coconut-flavoured syrups. Lastly, since you will be visiting during the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival, you must also try the Violet Lemonade. Due to its high popularity, this drink has become the festival's emblem, and it is an absolute must-try in my book!
I hope this was helpful, Jeff, and that you and your little dudes, as Crush the turtle would say, have a totally awesome time going with the flow down the lazy rivers. If you have any other questions leading up to your trip in the big blue world, please don't hesitate to reach out. We'll always be happy to dive into your questions!
Have a magical day and sea you later,
Ariane
