5 day stay, considering CBR or POFQ or Pop Century.1st time to WDW and thought is for spend day at the park and return in early afternoon for break before heading back for evening activities. 2 Adults and 8YO. Looking for convenience and also fun pool?

What's up, Ed! How awesome that you're on the brink of your first Disney World vacation. Huzzah! Your son is gonna think you're the coolest dad ever. And you probably are.

In order to keep you on that course to awesomeness, I'd recommend you take Caribbean Beach Resort out of the mix and focus on Port Orleans French Quarter or Pop Century. If price isn't a concern, then go with Port Orleans French Quarter. It's a more calming, intimate resort than Pop Century. You'll also get a little bit more space in your room, including a fridge and double sinks. We really like Pop Century too.

Pop Century has the Tie Dye Cheesecake. Port Orleans French Quarter has beignets. So it's a draw there.

Let's go with this then: If you think you'll be spending the majority of your times in the parks, then go Pop Century. It has several pools to choose from if you'll be taking the occasional dip. If you think those afternoon breaks (which are a great idea, by the way) will last for several hours, you'll be swimming daily and the price difference isn't a problem, then go Port Orleans French Quarter.
