Hi, Caroline!
Thank you for bringing your question to
planDisney. I’m so sorry to hear that your son’s birthday celebration at the Happiest Place on Earth was put on hold last year, but I hope that you both can make up for lost time with an extra helping of pixie dust once the
theme parks reopen on April 30, 2021!
Guests who had planned a visit before the theme parks were closed and already purchased tickets still have options to visit upon the reopening of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Per
Disneyland.com, certain unused non-promotional single-day tickets that were set to expire in 2020 will have the expiration date extended to December 16, 2021. Expiration dates for eligible tickets should be updated now, so try linking your tickets to your Disney account on Disneyland.com or the
Disneyland mobile app to check the current expiration date. If you have any issues doing this or have more questions, you can call (714) 781-4636 for live assistance from a Cast Member.
Keep in mind that a new theme park reservation system is coming soon, and when it becomes available, California residents with existing, valid tickets can make a theme park reservation for a day that their ticket is valid, pending availability. Be sure to check Disneyland.com and the
Disney Parks Blog often for the latest information about the resort’s phased reopening.
I hope this helps, Caroline, and that you and your son enjoy a perfectly pixie-dusted day
celebrating his birthday! Please feel free to write back with any other questions you may have as you continue to plan.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
