I have 3 day passes and was thinking about converting to magic keys. How do I do this

Greetings, Nancy, and welcome to planDisney. As a Magic Key annual passholder, I can tell you firsthand how wonderful it is to visit the park, knowing there are more visits on the horizon. At the time of writing this, the Inspire Key and Believe Key are still available for sale, so the timing is right if you want to update your tickets for a full year of magic. Let's get into it!

Nancy, it is possible to upgrade an eligible theme park ticket to a Magic Key annual pass, given certain conditions. First, the current price of the Magic Key annual pass you want to upgrade to must be equal to or greater than the amount paid for the ticket. Second, multi-day tickets can be upgraded by midnight on or before the last valid day of your ticket – if you try to upgrade after that, you won't be able to. Also, the upgrade is only possible as long as the Magic Key annual pass you want is still being sold. You can view other restrictions and important information on the Disneyland website. When you're ready to upgrade, pull up your Disneyland mobile app!

In the app, tap the icon at the bottom with the three horizontal lines (☰) and then tap the "My Tickets & Passes" square. You should be able to select your ticket and follow the prompts to upgrade it to a Magic Key annual pass. If you don't see your tickets listed, then you need to link them to your MyDisney account. From that same screen, tap the blue circle with a plus sign at the top and then tap "Link Tickets & Passes." Choose from the options to link your tickets.

One thing to note about the timing of your upgrade, Nancy: When you upgrade a multi-day theme park ticket to a Magic Key pass, the pass will be backdated to begin on the first day your theme park ticket was used. So it makes the most sense to upgrade earlier rather than later. And since your visit doesn't appear until October, I recommend upgrading now while Magic Key passes are still available. There's no guarantee that they will be on sale in October.

Now, Nancy, you are choosing a great year to become a Magic Key annual passholder. The Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration is underway, with amazing entertainment, vibrant decorations, festive food, exclusive merchandise, and more fun at both Disneyland and California Adventure. I have a hard time picking my favorite experiences, but the Paint the Night parade is definitely up there. And it was recently announced that this dazzling nighttime parade will continue through Halloween Time, so make sure to add that to your itinerary. I love visiting the parks during the last few months of the year, with all of the pumpkins and "spooky" fun in the fall and the garland, towering tree, and other merry details during the Holidays.

Nancy, I'll wish upon a star that this goes smoothly as you upgrade your theme park tickets. Once you have a Magic Key, make plans to have lunch at Magic Key Terrace. It's a great option with one of my favorite salads and a delicious soup. You can also visit the Magic Key Portal in the Disneyland mobile app to learn about special offers and experiences for annual passholders. If you have any other questions, you know where to find us! We're always glad to help here at planDisney.
