Dana from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We have all day passes for California adventure on October 17 2023. I was recently told by a friend that there is a oogie boogie party there and that we would be escorted out at 6pm if we did not have tickets to the extra event. Is this true?

Well hello and welcome to planDisney, Dana. We're so glad you stopped by to share this question with us. Your visit to the Disneyland Resort will be here before you know it, so let's get to your question.

After checking the park hours for Disney California Adventure Park during your stay, it looks like Oogie Boogie himself will indeed be taking over the park for the Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party on October 17th. The park will officially close at 6:00 p.m. and guests who do not have a ticket to this special event will be required to exit the park at this time. You will also start to see some party attendees ready to get their (oogie) boogie on and trickling into the park starting at 3:00 p.m.

Although you will have to leave Disney California Adventure Park, the day and the fun doesn't have to end there. If you have a Park Hopper ticket, you can hop on over to Disneyland Park to keep the magic going and finish out your day there. There are plenty of frightfully fun things to do during Halloween Time. You can head over to Haunted Mansion Holiday to see how Jack Skellington and friends have wrecked the halls. Make sure to pay close attention to the ballroom scene where there's a new and different gingerbread creation on the dining table every year.

There's also plenty of fun to be had in Downtown Disney District with Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit. You will purchase a map and hunt for pumpkins based on Disney characters all throughout Downtown Disney District. When you're done, you can turn in your map for a fun little keepsake. Quick tip, you can even collect the keepsake at the beginning before you even start your search.

Dana, I hope this helps give you the information you're looking for as well as some ideas for how to keep the magic going once you've left Disney California Adventure Park. If you think of anything else you'd like us to answer, please come back to visit. Here's wishing you a ghoulishly good time during your visit!
