We have 4 day park tickets and are going to purchase premier passes for packs. My question is would it be cheaper to do 3 day park tickets with a hopper pass and one of those days do a VIP tour for two Parks?

Hi Andrea, and welcome to planDisney! My family loves using Lightning Lane Passes to maximize our park days, especially during the warmer months. So I’d be happy to help figure out the best value for your upcoming trip!

First, let’s look at the 4-day ticket scenario. You’ll need to add the cost of the following:

+ 4-Day 1 Park Per Day Theme Park Ticket for everyone in your group
+ Lightning Lane Premier Pass for each day you plan to use it, multiplied by the number of people in your group

When you’re pricing this option on the Disney World website, be sure to take a look at the discounted 4-Park Magic Ticket and see if it’s available for your visit dates. You may be able to save some money to use towards your Lightning Lane purchase! And speaking of Lightning Lane, the price varies by the specific day and the theme park, so you can use the My Disney Experience app to check the cost. In the app, find Lightning Lane Premier Pass on the home screen and press the Purchase button. On the next screen, pick a date to see the cost by theme park. Typically, you can see dates within the next few weeks. So you won’t be able to see the cost for your trip until a bit closer to your vacation.

Now, let’s talk about your second scenario. You’ll need to add the cost of the following:

+ 3-Day Theme Park Ticket with Park Hopper Option for everyone in your group
+ Disney Private VIP Tour (the price includes up to 10 guests)
+ Lightning Lane Premiere Pass for the days you’re not doing the VIP tour, multiplied by the number of people in your group

The VIP Tour price varies by day, so you’ll need to call and check the cost. To give you a ballpark idea, it currently ranges from $450 to $950 per hour, with a minimum of 7 hours and a maximum of 10 hours.

I hope this gives you some guidance on how to price out your two scenarios. And don’t forget that in September, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival will be underway. Check out the recent post on Disney Parks Blog for more details on this fun culinary celebration!

I’m wishing you a magical time at Disney World next month! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
