Hey there, Emily. I'm so glad you've stopped by to talk about the
park pass reservation system because it seems like you may have revived some misinformation. But no worries, we are going to get you all set for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!
You are actually going to need to make a park pass reservation for the initial Walt Disney World Theme Park you are planning on visiting
each day of your vacation - even with your
park hopper pass, Emily. The park pass reservation system is basically a virtual placeholder in line at the initial theme park you'd like to visit each day. This helps control the crowds since the Walt Disney World Theme Parks are still operating at limited capacity at this time.
Park hopping only returned to us at the start of this year and does look a little bit different than it did before. Here is how park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option.
- Guests wishing to park hop must also have a park pass reservation for the initial theme park they'd like to visit each day.
- On the day of, Guests will need to scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation first before continuing on to other theme parks later that day. This sort of "activates" the park hopper feature each day.
- It is not necessary nor are you able to secure multiple park pass reservations for one day - just the initial one each day of your trip is needed.
- Park hopping hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and lasts until each park closes in the evenings
- To make park hopping a little bit more convenient, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided.
As you can see, there are some new rules surrounding park hopping but it is nothing too significant. Park hopping is my very favorite way to spend a Disney day and I have a feeling you are going to love it too! Emily, if you have any other questions about the park pass reservation system, park hopping or anything else before your trip, please feel free to reach back out and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Have fun!
