Hi Tracy,
Or as my ghost host friend says, “Welcome, Foolish Mortal” to planDisney! This is a great question – I'm excited to hear that you have a full day of fun planned at the
Walt Disney World Resort coming up. You’re correct in that you need two tickets, one for the day’s adventures in
Magic Kingdom Park and then a separate ticket for the special evening event,
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, in the same location for the same day. I’m delighted to help you understand what to expect for a seamless transition to party time.
When you enter Magic Kingdom Park that morning, you will scan whatever
method of entry you have set up and it will take that day’s ticket from your account. Since you have purchased event tickets for the same day you may remain inside the theme park. Any time after 4:00 P.M. you can either return to the main entrance or see a party-themed Cast Member at many designated locations around the park – look for signage, their festive costumes, or ask any Cast Member for assistance around this time if you don’t see them quickly. Those specific party Cast Members will then scan your ticket to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and issue you a wristband and a special party map to navigate your way through the evening event. I suggest you take this critical step early (near 4:00 P.M. if possible) as queues do form and it can take up precious time later in the evening if you don't yet have your magical wristband.
The transformation to party time continues to occur until the Magic Kingdom’s closure to daytime Guests by 7:00 P.M., when they no longer have access to attractions and party-specific entertainment without the party ticket. Your wristband will magically grant you access to everything the event has to offer from that point on, Tracy!
Check out the Foodie Guide to the party that was just released, detailing all the delicious and spooky treats available (some during the day and some exclusive to the event). I’ve started making my must-try list, yum!
There’s so much fun to experience during this magical holiday evening. My favorite is
Mickey's "Boo to You" Halloween Parade which features so many unique characters and hauntingly good entertainment, don’t miss it! If there are any characters in their special costumes that you wish to meet, I suggest you locate them on the party map and be sure to get in line early so that you can maximize the magic throughout the rest of the evening.
I hope this helps you understand what to expect and prepare for an amazing day at Magic Kingdom Park! Be sure to hydrate to stay safe, and perhaps
plan a table service meal or two during the day so you can pace yourself throughout this fun and busy adventure. You may consider
renting a locker if you want to stash some clothing or accessories for the party and lighten your load during the day.
Please let us know if you have any other questions on your upcoming trip, we’d love to help!
Wishing you a bewitchingly good time,
Amy
