The day we land we would like to visit DTD. We don't want to use up our parkhopper passes. What parts can we visit without using our passes the first day? Downtown Disney, Boardwalk ect?

Hello Christina!   Thanks for asking your question here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Without a park ticket, you can visit Downtown Disney, Disney's Boardwalk area and any of the Walt Disney World Resorts.  My family and I love spending our arrival day at Downtown Disney.  I find that traveling, even by airplane, really tires us out.  We like to check in to the resort, purchase our refillable mugs, unpack our bags and explore.  Then we catch the bus to Downtown Disney to have lunch at Earl of Sandwich and walk around looking at all the fun souvenirs.  I normally purchase my daughter's autograph book and a new pen at The World Of Disney.  After some shopping, we love to have dinner at one of the Walt Disney World Resort restaurants.  'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is our favorite dinner and it's a great way to kick off a vacation.  I like to try to get a reservation one hour prior to the fireworks over Magic Kingdom and request a window seat at check in so we can see them from our seats.  The restaurant dims the lights and pipes in the music from the show, it is so much fun.

I hope this helps plan your arrival day at Walt Disney World.  If you have any other questions, I'd love to help.

    Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
