Hi Cortney, thanks for bringing your question to us here at planDisney!
Any length of time visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth is time well spent, and I have some helpful tips and important information that will help you maximize your day and a half at Walt Disney World Resort.
One of the most essential steps to take while planning your magical vacation is to download the
My Disney Experience app on your device. This app has it all! As your in-park guide, it can show you attraction wait times, show times, and provide in-park navigation. The app can also function as your park ticket, allow you to redeem your
Lightning Lane choices, and connect
PhotoPass images to your account via
Disney MagicMobile service. When it comes to planning for dining, you can use the app to make dining reservations, order food on the go, join a table service restaurant's walk-up waitlist, and browse menus!
Once you've downloaded the app, consider if you'd like to visit a theme park or just enjoy the wide variety of activities outside the parks that are offered throughout the resort area. If you are visiting a park, make sure you have
purchased theme park tickets for everyone in your party. Admission prices are date-based, so you may want to explore the calendar to see which dates of your visit will be most cost-effective. For a one day visit, I'd highly recommend checking out my favorite park,
EPCOT. To build an itinerary for the park of your choice, the app has phenomenal cosmic power in an itty bitty living space in the form of
Disney Genie, a complimentary planning service! Genie will consider your personal preferences and display any existing plans to make recommendations for the perfect park day!
If you'd rather explore the resort area and skip a theme park on this trip, let me suggest some of my favorite activities. First,
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf is a whimsical and challenging miniature golf course featuring two 18-hole adventures to choose from. My personal preference is the Fantasia Gardens course, where you step into Fantasia, putting around obstacles themed to the characters and scenes from the iconic 1940 film. I also love
pin trading around the resort, and this can become an adventure in itself. You can start with a mystery bag or box of pins and see if you can complete your set or find your favorite characters on the pin boards at the resort hotels and merchandise retail locations. If you're staying at a Disney Resort Hotel, spend some time by the pool or check out the activity board to see what is going on at your resort that day. I've enjoyed resort tours, crafts, and trivia during my resort stays in the past.
With the My Disney Experience app, Disney Genie, and the expert resources here at
planDisney, planning your perfect vacation has never been easier, Cortney!
Please reach out with additional questions should you have them. We are here to help!
