Going on 5day dream cruise in June. What would you recommend for my 6 & 9 boys to wear at the assigned dinners? Formal, casual and Im guessing there is a pirate dress up night? Will we miss out on anything if we dont have a formal outfit?

    Hi, Denise!

Most dinner attire for Disney Cruise Line guests is "cruise casual" -- which means no shorts, swimwear or tank tops in the main dining restaurants at night.  One night will be a themed pirate party where full costumes or pirate attire are encouraged.  One night will be an optional "dress up" night -- which may include everything from sport coats, suits, pantsuits and dresses. It's not required, and it will be the exception to see formal wear such as a tuxedo or evening gown.

For my younger boys -- who are about the ages of yours -- I pack khaki pants, collared shirts, belts and casual loafers.  They don't have to wear them all evening, but I like to have the family dressed nicely each night in order to have memorable photos made together.  Otherwise, the next time you'll catch all six of us dressed up and in the same place will be at a wedding or a funeral. It doesn't happen for my crew very often so I have to pull the "Mom Card."

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
