We are going on a 5 day cruise in May on the Magic. Is there a formal dining night no-board and if so, how formal should I dress my children? On the other nights, would it be appropriate for them to wear shorts and sandles to dinner?

    Hi Katrina!

Dining on Disney cruises is mostly cruise casual. That means no swimwear, tank tops or shorts (for adults).  My son (he's 11) does wear dress shorts and nice golf type shirts to most meals while my 14 year old daughter likes to be a little dressier, but still casual enough to be comfortable when she returns to her youth clubs to hang out with her friends after dinner.  That could mean leggings and a nice tunic top, or nice jeans and a blingy top.  They both wore sandals!  5 day itineraries have an optional dress up night, when the guys can wear a shirt and tie with slacks or a suit.  It's the best night to dress everyone up and get the family picture taken!

Please remember that if you are dining at Palo, your husband will need a jacket.

I hope this helps!  Have a wonderful trip!
